Using it...

The widget by default opens to show the flash card window and the vocab for RNT Week 1.

You can change what vocab is displayed, along with many other settings by right-clicking and choosing 'widget preferences...'

Opening the other windows

There are a few different windows which can be displayed as you need to use them. You can open or close them by right-clicking on any open window and choosing the appropriate entry from the popup menu.

The windows you can choose to display are:

  • The 'memory window' - a memory game. Match the Greek to the English words. Uses the same vocab that is being shown in the flash cards window.
  • The 'parse window'. Lets you practice parsing verbs, nouns, participles. You can choose the category you would like to test (e.g. luw) in widget preferences, and select which parts of speech to test by right clicking on the parse window. You can select which Mood/Voice/Tense you wish to drill.
  • The 'category window'. Lets you change which words are in each category. You can create a category, say for difficult words if you wish to.
  • The 'search window'. This is primarily for making entry of words into categories easier. You can search by typing the english gloss then copy/paste the greek word to the category window.

Handy Hints

  • You can set how the window displays in 'widget preferences...'. For example you can set it to be always on top, and semi-transparent. This means you can always see it, but also see through it to what you are working on.
  • If you dont want to see the widget all the time, right-click on it and choose hide widget. You can bring it up by hitting 'F8' for the heads up display.
  • The flash cards auto-advance by default. You can pause them, and go back and forward as you wish by clicking the controls on the bottom right of the widget. You can also resize the widget by clicking and dragging the bottom-right corner.
  • You can advance to the next flash card by clicking on the text.

I hope that you enjoy this widget and that it helps you to nail vocab and paradigms!
